Working on such titles as Green Lantern, the Batman titles, Aquaman and Hawkman, Peter Tomasi was an occasional writer (and editor for DC) on various titles including JSA, The Outsiders, Steel and The Light Brigade. In 2007, Tomasi left his 15 year role as an editor and transitioned to one of writer. He began on the limited series Black Adam: The Dark Age, and he is currently the regular writer on the relaunch of Batman: Detective Comics. He has also written the Final Crisis tie-in Requiem, a tribute to the Martian Manhunter.

Nun hat also "Batman" die 1000er-Grenze überschritten und zum Jubiläum gönnt uns der DC-Verlag eine Rätseljagd mit dem Titel "Batman's Longest Case" mit einer sehr unerwarteten Auflösung, sowie einige ander Geschichten um Charaktere um Batman und seine "Familie" herum - und auch das Aufgreifen einiger nun schon klassisch zu nehmender Elemente, wie z.B. einen neuerlichen Besuch der Crime Alley.Batmans psychosoziale Einbettung in sein Umfeld wird in letzter Zeit immer kritischer gesehen und auch das kommt in dieser Ausgabe, die sehr wertig gearbeitet ist und neben guten Geschichten undhervorragend dazu begleitender Kunst auch eine ausgiebige Cover-Galerie enthält. Für Fans auf jeden Fall ein Muss - aber auch sonst lohnenswert.
